DIYnot blog is where my wife and I post about our projects. This is where I write about computing (Python) and post random crap.
x4 = camp stove.
Cooking on a log:
Cut the log evenly on both sides so it stands up freely. Then cut it into vertical segments most of the way down the length of the log. Stuff in some newspaper into the cracks as deep as you can get it, leaving a wick at the bottom, and light it up.
That’s all there is to it—the log burns from the inside out, and you have a simple, handmade stove….TA DA- Tonya O’Tinger prostaff. (Women Camp Too)

Looks like Snoqualmie Falls, WA to me. Do you know where it is?

portable farm -> milk crates (they moved the entire farm inside during Hurricane Irene!)
that is intense, the whole farm!?
Love it all
It’s horrible that two FBI agents lost their lives… bottom line. That said, it just doesn’t seem right that Leonard Peltier serve any more time. It comes down to several things but mostly these: a) a fair trial, b) injustice, c) culture. I can’t write an essay but I think the story is tragic, very interesting, and worth one’s while to learn about. At some point I think everyone has to admit that he didn’t receive a fair trial and for that reason he should be freed.
I grew up with a Native American stepfather and my white mother. Somewhere along the line my curiosity was whetted (maybe Rage Against the Machine’s Freedom?) and led me to read Peter Matthiessen’s book, In the Spirit of Crazy Horse. Great book, fascinating history, and a man’s freedom hangs in the balance. Obama, pardon Leonard Peltier.
